New Year, new insights, new website, new events and of course, new yarns.

It is now 2020 and we are all so much wiser about lots of things, yarn and non-yarn related.

To start with our website unravelled!!

At the end of last year the website we had painstakingly populated with all our beautiful yarns, patterns and accessories, unravelled or in IT terms, crashed irrevocably. Since then Lance has spent most of the summer months rebuilding and repopulating our new website. It looks fabulous. Then came the NBN (yes I know you are all laughing) we believed our provider when  they said we could self install. We did and it didn’t work (due to faulty wiring, which was not our fault). so no phones for 10 days and limited internet. All services are now working fine and we have gained new skills.

One positive outcome of rebuilding the website is that we know our yarn collection inside out, can just about quote colour numbers. We rediscovered some delights that we had neglected and have re-organised our shelves so that all of our yarns are able to shine,

Events and Classes – We have taken note of your questions and listened to your suggestions and as such are  offering a fresh new approach to events and classes. In 2020 we have introduced 2 new monthly events.

  • Monthly Meetups (first Saturday of the month 10.30am – 12.30pm) – Small group of up to 5 people per 2 hour meetup.  Yarning Place will give demonstrations based on questions that we have been asked over the years.  From showing different ways to cast on and off through to Macramé refreshers. Bring your own project to practice with or if you haven’t got a project, we can start you on one. The first Monthly Meetup will be a Crochet Demonstration. Cost is $30 per Meetup Commencing which includes Morning Tea. First Meetup will be Saturday 7 March

  • Yarn Tastings – (third Saturday of the month 3.00pm – 5.00pm) Ever wanted to try different sorts of yarn without the outlay for a 50 or 100 gram ball? Yarn Tastings are for you. Each month we will be tasting 2 selected yarns and you will be provided with 25 grams of each yarn plus needles/hooks so you can work with the yarn and make a sampler to take with you. Costs is $50.00 per session which includes all material and afternoon tea.  (if you already have the necessary hooks or needles cost is $40.00 per session) Commencing Saturday 15 February

**** As these are small group sessions it is essential that you book in advance.

Of course we are also offering classes

  • Classes – Once again we will be offering Knitting, Crochet and Macramé Classes throughout the year. These will commence soon and held Saturdays or Wednesday evenings. Costs will vary depending on the Class.
